  GTC高分辨率超稳定光谱仪旨在通过使用最先进观测技术、并利用世界最大聚光口径的望远镜和北半球最佳观测台址,开展天文与天体物理学基础前沿研究,以解决关键科学问题。拟研究的内容包括系外行星、恒星元素丰度、星际介质、黑洞及特殊天体、银河系与近邻矮星系的演化等。该光谱仪的紫外-光学宽波段覆盖和高精度视向速度测量,将推动系外行星研究的发展—特别是行星大气性质和寻找地球2.0。

  

  The high-resolution ultra-stable spectrograph on GTC conducts the forefront research to resolve the key science problems in astronomy and astrophysics, through utilizing the cutting-edge technologies combined with the world’s larges t light-collecting aperture and the best observing site in the northern hemisphere.  The sciences targeted by this instrument include exoplanets, elemental abundances of stars, interstellar medium, black holes and peculiar objects, chemical evolution of the Milky Way and nearby dwarf galaxies.   The broad wavelength coverage of UV–optical and the high-precision radial velocity measurements of this spectrograph, will significantly advance the  study of exoplanets, in particular properties of the exoplanet atmospheres as well as searching for the Earth 2.0.
