恒星演化和星际介质
方玄，男，1982年出生，湖北省通山县人，中共党员，中国科学院国家天文台研究员。2011年6月获得北京大学博士学位。2011年7月至2013年8月在北京大学天文系和科维理天文与天体物理研究所（KIAA）从事博士后研究；2013年9月至2016年2月在西班牙国家高等科学研究委员会IAA-CSIC研究所从事博士后研究；2016年3月至2019年12月在香港大学从事博士后研究。2020年1月作为副研究员入职中国科学院国家天文台。2020年12月入选中国科学院人才引进计划，晋升为研究员，并被评为博士生导师。
主要从事恒星晚期演化，特别是行星状星云相关的天体物理学方面的研究。研究成果发表于国际知名SCI期刊，包括《自然-天文学》等，总计26篇，其中第一作者/通讯作者论文15篇。作为子课题负责人参与中国科学院先导科技专项（B类）项目1项。应邀参与了GTC、VLT等大望远镜观测项目申请的评审，以及哈勃太空望远镜HST观测项目的评审。多年来一直致力于采用新的观测手段和理论方法，对银河系内及河外行星状星云开展高分辨率成像和深度分光观测，具有丰富的使用先进望远镜的实测科研经验，并在多个研究方向取得了成果。已经成功领导多个国际合作的天文观测项目，利用西班牙旗舰天文设备10.4米加那利大望远镜GTC（为当今世界上最大的地面光学红外望远镜）对银河系内和仙女座大星系M31外晕中的行星状星云开展光谱巡天观测；作为PI累计获得150小时的GTC观测时间（相当于150—200万欧元的GTC观测费用）。作为PI领导过哈勃太空望远镜HST以及其它多个2–5米口径世界级地面望远镜上的国际合作观测项目。
