星系形成与演化的多波段观测研究，光学红外天文图像处理方法
刘凤山，男，1979年6月出生，天津武清人，汉族，中共党员，中国科学院国家天文台研究员，中国天文学会会员，中国空间科学学会会员，中国物理学会会员。2002年～2008年就读于中国科学院国家天文台，获博士学位，后任职于沈阳师范大学。2012年～2014年，任职于美国加州大学圣克鲁兹分校/里克天文台。2012年～2018年，参加美国哈勃空间望远镜CANDELS巡天计划。2018年底，在陈建生院士、Sandra Faber院士等力荐下，开始投入中国空间站望远镜地面应用系统（今“数据处理系统”）的筹备与建设，并于2020年初回归中国科学院国家天文台。
刘凤山在国内率先倡导和实施“大焦面点扩散函数均匀化的多色测光”策略、共同牵头组建国内首支“空间望远镜无缝光谱处理”队伍、率先倡导并充分论证“中国空间站望远镜与欧空局的欧几里德卫星和美国的罗曼空间望远镜之间数据协同的科学机遇与挑战”。截至2022年4月，作为课题负责人，承担国家级项目2项；作为子课题负责人/核心成员，承担国家重大工程/重点项目共3项；作为co-PI，承担美国哈勃空间望远镜大型/常规项目共4项。刘凤山主要研究领域为星系形成与演化的多波段观测研究、光学红外天文图像处理方法，并在超大质量星系的结构演化、星系团的搜寻与证认、高红移星系结构性质方面均做出了系列性研究工作，其中关于“高红移恒星形成星系结构性质”的一系列研究成果，被《天文学和天体物理学年鉴》（ARA&A）重点引述。
