| This talk will cover aspects of the instruments and science goals of the James Webb Space, including some of the high lights of the results obtained over its first two years of operation. The second part of the talk will focus on aspects related to the study of Active Galactic Nuclei and Quasars. This is the topic of an International Space Science Institute (ISSI) project running during this week. | |
| 报告人介绍/Bio: | |
| Prof. Martin Ward obtained his first degree at Imperial College London. He then studied for his PhD at the Royal Greenwich Observatory. Following this he was a Fellow at Cambridge University and later at Oxford University. He is now Emeritus Professor at Durham University. He has been the vice-President of the Royal Astronomical Society and served at Chairman of ESA’s Astronomy Working Group. He has been involved in research on Active Galaxies for nearly 50 years, and has published about 300 refereed papers. He is currently an editor of the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. He is currently a co-I on the JWST mid-infrared instrument. | |
